Professor Calarco's research interests include ethical theory, animal ethics, and 20th-century Continental philosophy, and he teaches courses in ethics, philosophy of science, and modernism to postmodernism. He is the co-editor (with Peter Atterton) of several books, and has written numerous articles for publication in such journals as Philosophy Today, International Studies in Philosophy, and Angelaki. His professional memberships include the International Association ofor Philosophy and Literature, International Association of Environmental Philosophy, Society for Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy, and the American Philosophical Association.

Professor Scow's research interests are in semantics of natural language and the philosophy of language. He is working on a paper for publication entitled "Mutual Understanding," which is an attempt to make sense of the semantics of two speakers understanding each other's utterances using a Davidsonian theory of meaning and modern ways out of the liar paradox. He has also been commenting on "Reuniting Singular Terms" and "Against Reference," both papers by Professor John Justice of RMWC.
